This alliance is currently seeking funding for the implementation of after-school programs for the youth of Madison County. Currently, there are four applications for funding that have been submitted in regards to this project. Project applications include submittals to the 21st Century Learning Centers Program, Safe and Drug Free Schools, the Carol White Physical Education Program, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
The target date for the implementation of this program is sometime this fall. The program will provide homework help and tutoring, recreation, instruction in technological applications, family support and fun. In an effort to support this project the club has task the alliance with raising $25,000 on an annual basis to support the sustainability of the Club. The local club will be run as an extension of the Tabula Rasa organization until such time that sufficient financial support has been developed.
The Boys & Girls Club Is Back
The Boys & Girls Club of Tabula Rasa is committed to providing services to youth in need. Recently Executive Director Kevin Kidd met with community leaders from Madison, Florida about re-opening the Boys & Girls Club program in their community. As a result of this meeting a partnership has been formed between the Police Department, the Madison County School Board, Madison County Recreation Board, Twin Oaks Juvenile Development and the Boys & Girls Club.
